What Is It?

Digital marketing freelancer is no.1 on the list of online jobs that don’t suck.

What does a digital marketing freelancer do? A digital marketing freelancer is someone who manages and helps a business grow its online presence.

Digital marketing is a component of marketing that uses the internet and other online platforms to reach users via digital means.

This could be through technologies like computers, tablets, mobile devices, and other digital media platforms.

What Do You Do?

The role of a digital marketer is plentiful and is quite honestly down to your niche.

What do you want to specialize in? SEO? Pay Per Click Advertising? It is really up to you!

2.Programming And Coding Jobs

Next on the list for ‘work from home jobs not customer service’, is computer programming.

If I were to rewind 3 years and go back to being stuck in my office job wishing I was somewhere else – I would have advised myself that the best way to make money online would be to learn programming.

This is a HUGELY in-demand skill and is only going to increase in demand.

Additionally, it is one of the best full-time or part-time jobs that doesn’t require social interaction to do it!

What Is It?

It is fun online work if you love technology and you’re tech-savvy.

There’s no disputing that the world we’re living in is becoming a digital one and just like mankind needed architects and builders to start our civilization, the online world needs them too.

That’s where you come in -as a coder or programmer, you write code and ensure the website runs smoothly.

They aren’t the same thing though, coding involves the writing of codes from one language to another. You’re basically inputting formulas, whereas programming is the process of building programs that can be used to carry out proper outputs.

A few years ago, no one had really ever heard of the term UX designer but now if you’re a UX designer in Switzerland, you could be making $100,890 on average.

What Do You Do?

A coder or programmer’s tasks can range from but are not limited to:

  • Website Development
  • Data scraping
  • Mobile app development
  • Building chatbots for websites
  • Simple games
  • Microcontroller programming
  • User interface

Who Is Hiring?

Here are some programming courses you can take that will help you quit your 9-5 job!

3.Online Coaching, And Consulting

What Is it?

We’re talking about online jobs that don’t suck right? How can it suck when you’re doing what you love?

If you enjoy working with others and helping them achieve their goals, why not become an online coach?

Everyone is trying to upskill and if you already have that skill, why not teach others and make money while doing it?

You can be a life, business, fitness, financial coach -you can be whatever kind of coach! The world is your oyster.

Consulting is no different, let’s say you have experience and experience in finance, IT, marketing, content creation, etc.

Online coaching and consulting fall under the non sales remote jobs category where you can share your insight with others and guide them in that field.

You get to make your own hours, focus on what you love, and get paid while doing it.

I ended up becoming an online coach which helps people transition from ther 9-5 job into remote work.

It’s hugely satisfying and you get to help people achieve their dreams #cheesywotsitalert

What Do You Do?

Your area of expertise will depend on your job scope.

For instance, a finance coach would focus on helping with financial goals, savings, cutting back on expenditures, investments, and other aspects of financial health.

Your job is to guide someone and give them the tools to help them achieve their goals.

Who Is Hiring?

Speaking from personal experience, this is the process I followed to become a coach

  • Figure out who you want to help and in what area
  • Get some training
  • Start coaching for free and get testimonials
  • Start talking about it on social media and your website
  • Get booked

It honestly was as simple as that !

Here are some platims you can run your coaching services on if you have courses.

Alternatively, if you want to set up a coaching website, here is a step by step FREE guide.

4.Freelance Writer

What Is It?

Looking for entry level jobs that don’t suck? Then why not look into freelance writing or editing?

PS. This is one of my favorite types of remote jobs not customer service. All you need is your laptop and a stable internet connection and you’re set.

Writing requires no experience and with the help of free tools like Grammarly, you can easily overcome any grammatical errors or writing oversights.

No matter where you go or what you do, content is always everywhere. Someone needs to write that content, why can’t it be you?

There’s a demand for writers these days with people consuming media faster than it can be created.

Bonus points if you’re able to write in another language too.

What Do You Do?

Do you have a niche? If yes, you can write specialized content for bloggers, magazines, websites, companies, and even publishing companies.

And if you’re not looking to have your name on a piece of literary work, you can even go into ghostwriting. This is not the seedy underbelly of the writing world nor is it a writing niche about ghosts.

Ghostwriting simply means the piece you write will not have your name on it and the rates for ghostwriting is pretty high.

I’ve seen jobs on Upwork for $3000 for one off jobs like creating a short novel.

You can write anything from blog posts, recipes, children books, CV’s, cover letters, college essays, you name it.

Who Is Hiring?

Here is a step by step guide to become a freelance writer . Also, I took this course which helped me find 3 new writing jobs in 3 weeks, despite the fact that I had zero experience!

5 . Virtual Assistant

What Is It?

Here is another one of those online jobs that don’t suck, a virtual assistant (VA).

Also known as an online Administrative Assistant, a VA is someone who does everything that would fall under the job of an in-person assistant but remotely.

And I don’t mean making coffee runs (I mean you may need to get things delivered but you’ll be doing it online). Contrary to popular belief, a lot of assistant tasks don’t necessarily need you to be in the office.

You can work from the comfort of your home and assist your client virtually. Thus the term, ‘virtual assistant’.

What Do You Do?

The role of a Virtual Assistant can vary but here are some jobs you may be asked to do as a VA:

Administrative Work:

  • Scheduling meetings and appointments
  • Answering phone calls
  • Replying to emails
  • Basic data entry
  • Organizing your to-do list
  • Calendar planning
  • Booking travel arrangements
  • Personal tasks
  • Helping you make purchases
  • Content Creation

Who Is Hiring?

Here is a free step by step guide to becoming a virtual assistant. I used to work as a virtual assistant and I took this course which helped me find my first client in 30 days !

6. Online Tutor

What Is It?

Teaching online is no longer a job reserved for hippies or backpackers. A lot of people are making decent money teaching online.

I used to teach English online and at my peak , I made $6000 a month!

Talk about part time jobs that don’t suck!

And you’re not only limited to teaching English online, you can teach any language or any topic.

Teaching online gives you the freedom to teach whatever you want, whenever you want. You can set your own rates and your own hours.

What Do You Do?

If someone asked me for online jobs that are fun, I’d tell them to try out online tutoring. As a teacher, your goal is to impart knowledge. How you do that is the fun part!

You can teach anything however you wish. Through song and dance, games, art, literature, videos, the list is endless.

I, myself have had a riot teaching children English through song and dance.

Some websites will even pay you to speak. This definitely falls under the category of online jobs that don’t suck.

7. Social Media Manager

What Is It?

Let’s get real, social media is not going anywhere. If anything, it’s becoming an essential part of marketing, advertising, and some people’s day-to-day lives.

A social media manager is someone who is in charge of representing a company or brand across social platforms as the sole voice of the brand.

A decade ago, this role was non-existent but now more than ever, companies are embracing social media to connect with their users, create meaningful interactions, build brand loyalty, and release new products.

If you’re someone who loves being on social media and is good at it, I’d say this falls under the category of fun online jobs.

What Do You Do?

Social media managers do a lot. They are responsible for curating a brand’s social channels.

They strategize and execute online marketing campaigns as well as gather the data and analytics from that campaign to better understand the audience.

Here are some tasks that social media managers do:

  • Monitor, moderate, and respond to comments
  • Create campaigns and content for social media platforms
  • Post shareable videos and images
  • Manage social media partnerships with other brands
  •  Provide brands and companies with the tools needed to enhance their online presence
  • Improve website traffic
  • Optimize brand awareness
  • Grow businesses through Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.

A lot of companies need people to manage their many social media accounts and with the growth of Pinterest, Tik Tok, Snapchat, and so many other social platforms -companies need people to manage and ensure they stay relevant and visible across every social media platform out there.

So you can bet your bottom dollar that they are willing to pay a good amount of money to get someone else to manage and curate their social media profiles.

Here is a step by step to become a social media manager and a course I took to help me become one.

8. Virtual Fitness Instructor

What Is It?

Yes, you read that right. I told you I’d have something for everyone on this list. Getting paid to work out definitely falls under the category of online jobs that don’t suck!

There are lots of fun online jobs that pay well and if you love working out and staying fit then this is the job for you.

Fitness is a fast-growing market and one you can take to the online world. You can make money by teaching group workouts or one on one fitness classes.

This can range from anything to Zumba, yoga, pilates, weights, or high-intensity workouts.

Think of it as like an at-home fitness video but in real-time and if you have some insight into healthy eating or a great workout regime that is full-proof, you can even market packages.

Not everyone has the time to commute or maybe some people aren’t comfortable with the gym and would rather work out from the comfort of their home.

For example, every Monday I take yoga classes from a yoga instructor in New Zealand. Wild eh?!

Believe it or not, you can do this job remotely and lots of gyms and regular folk are looking for virtual fitness instructors.

I just saw a job listing for a virtual basketball coach on Upwork. I’m not sure how that works but hey, it’s a job, right?

What Do You Do?

Essentially as a virtual fitness instructor, you would do everything a regular fitness instructor would but online.

Simple right?

This could mean anything from nutrition plans, workout regimes, exercising together, weight training, and whatever else your client would need from you to get into tip-top shape.

Getting fit and healthy while earning money certainly makes this on the list of online jobs that don’t suck.
