The Advantages Of Blogging That Changed My Life!
Last week’s blog post was a bit heavy.
I shared the harder side of running an online business.
And I know many of you are feeling something similar in your own work.
Feeling stuck, tired, like your time isn’t fully your own.
So this week, I wanted to share the other side.
Before I started blogging, I worked in a bank.
And there’s something I still remember clearly.
I used to see corporate managers, many of them mothers, saying goodnight to their babies over FaceTime.
From their desks.
Late in the evening.
Still at work.
Then battle traffic after a long day of work, too- how on earth did they do it?!
And maybe your situation looks different.
But the feeling might be similar.
Being tied to a schedule.
Having to ask for time off.
Trying to fit your life around your work.
That stayed with me.
Because I didn’t just want to earn money.
I wanted more control over my time.
Fast forward to today.
I run an online business.
And it’s not perfect.
But it gives me something I think a lot of people are actually looking for.
Here are some real examples of how blogging has changed my life, and how it can change yours for the better.
Hopefully, this can give you hope and inject some positivity in your day-to-day! (I love reading about happy stories; it makes me happy)

1. Flexibility
Being able to structure your day around your life.
Not the other way around.
For example:
I can work early in the morning, take a break in the afternoon, and finish things later at night.
Or not work at all on a random weekday.
Sometimes my mom calls me and invites me for breakfast, I can say YES!
Some days I wake up and fancy a morning hike with my daughter — I have the flexibility and freedom to pack my stuff and do what makes us happy for the day.
Its liberating

2. Creativity
In my old life, I recall working on meaningless spreadsheets for WEEKS. Boring useless spreadsheets just to check boxes.
It sucked the life and soul out of me.
Are you telling me we were put on this beautiful magical earth with all its wonder…to check boxes and fill in spreadsheets? O_O
Or the ‘blue sky thinking’, let’s circle back to that,’ let’s think outside the box’.
Quite frankly, I wanted to throw the box at them. Hard.
But an online business allows you to do work that feels interesting.
Writing.
Sharing ideas.
Building something of your own.
Instead of doing repetitive tasks, I can:
Write about something I’ve experienced.
Turn an idea into a blog post or product.
Test new ideas and see what works.

3. No commute
It used to take me 1 hour each way, WITHOUT traffic.
That’s 10 hours of my life per week, unpaid, dedicated to someone else when I could be sleeping or reading.
Now? No rushing in the mornings.
No sitting in traffic.
No losing hours just getting to and from work.
That’s hours back every week.
Time that can go into:
- rest
- family
- or even building something of your own

4. Independence
Not having someone constantly telling you what to do.
Not dealing with office politics or difficult colleagues.
No one is checking when I log in.
No one is questioning how I spend my day.
No navigating office politics.
I used to walk into my office with a positive ‘Good morning’, only to be greeted by my negative colleague,’ We will see how good the morning is.
Phew. Good riddance to that.

5. Helping people
This sounds a bit cheesy but…. helping people become happier healthier wealthier versions of themselves… makes me happy.
YEAH! Sounds cliche, but it really gives me energy.
Who wants to live in a world of miserable people? Not me. The more happier people the better.
Blogging allows you to share what you know.
Your experiences.
Your lessons.
And know it’s actually helping someone.
For example:
Someone reads your post and:
- books their first solo trip
- makes their first affiliate sale
- cooks a delicious recipe
- Tries a book you recommended
- solves a problem they’ve been stuck on
Their life is different and better …because of something you wrote!
That feeling is hard to replace.

6. Being present
Having the option to take a random day off.
To spend time with family.
To do something simple like going for a walk, a hike, or visiting a farm.
Like the other day
I woke up and went for a hike with my daughter
A few days later, I visited a farm with my mum and my daughter.
On a random Wednesday.
No planning.
No permission.

7. Unlimited income potential
Not being tied to a fixed salary.
Having the ability to grow your income over time.
Look, this is a double-edged sword; it can make you feel like you should be working all the time O_O
And I know not everyone wants to run a business.
But I do think many people want what sits underneath all of this.
More flexibility.
More control.
More choice.
If I want to earn more, I can:
Create a new product.
Write more content.
Test a new income stream.
There are no rules on what you can and can’t do and how much you can earn!
That’s why this matters to me.
Not just the income.
But the ability to choose how I spend my day.
And I know not everyone wants to run a business.
But I do think many people want something similar underneath it all.
More control.
More flexibility.
More choice.
So if this is something you’ve been thinking about…
Here’s a very simple way to start.
Not everything at once.
Just one step at a time.

Step 1: Pick one topic you know well
Something you can talk about easily. Something that helps someone.
Something you seem to be one step ahead of, compared to everyone else
Step 2: Create simple content around it
You don’t need to be everywhere.
Start with:
- a blog
- or even just writing consistently
- you can even fire up google docs and start writing there, just start , you can uplaod the content later
Step 3: Focus on one way to get traffic
Not everything.
Just one:
- or even email
- or social media?
Step 4: Add one way to make money
Keep it simple:
- affiliates
- ads
- a small digital product
- or a service
You don’t need a perfect plan.
You just need a starting point.
This is exactly how I built my blog.
And it’s what I now teach inside my course:
Where I break this down step by step in a simple, practical way.
So you can go from:
“I wish I had more freedom”
To actually building something that gives you that.
If this is something you’ve been thinking about…

And I’m curious:
What would you do on a random Wednesday…
If your time was fully yours?
Just hit reply/ comment and tell me.
I read every response.
