The best degree for proofreading is for those who majored in journalism, creative writing, or English as these majors deal a lot with writing and editing.
However, you should know that you do not need a degree to be a proofreader.
Some of the best proofreaders out there today do not have a related degree, and not all who have journalism or creative writing degrees went on to be proofreaders or editors.
As long as you have access to the best proofreading courses available today, a lot of determination, and are not afraid to put in the work, you can get your very first proofreading gig!
Take me, for example. I had a degree in finance, and knew nothing about proofreading.
