How Much Do You Get Paid To Move To Vermont?

Just how much money to move to Vermont?
The Vermont government provides incentives to move to Vermont, and it is up to $7,500 for moving expenses. Isn’t that a lot? I would move in a heartbeat!
But wait… How do I get that much of money? Is this real?
Vermont government has a relocation incentive program and through the program, they provide grants of up to $7,500 to both new workers (moving to Vermont to take a job in Vermont) and remote workers (moving to Vermont with their job).
Since 2018, Vermont has awarded $1,780,000 in relocation grants and 453 new workers with their families have relocated through this Vermont pay to move program.
The program includes a pre-approval process for those who have not yet moved to the state.
The pre-approval process informs applicants before moving if they are eligible to receive a grant once they relocate.
The incentive is paid out as a reimbursement grant after you have relocated to Vermont. For that, you will need to submit the required verification documents.
These grants are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, and, mind you, completing the application does not guarantee a grant.
The Selection Process: How To Move To Vermont (VT)?
I told you about how much they are paying to move and the pre-approval process. But how do you know that you’re eligible?
Grant eligibility for the New Remote Worker Grant is as follows:
- Relocated to Vermont and became a full-time resident
- Is working full-time remotely for employers outside VT from a home office or coworking space within VT
- The applicant’s wage equals or exceeds the VT livable wage ($13.39 per/hour)
- Able to afford qualified relocation expenses
- Subject to Vermont income tax
