Yes, you absolutely can sell Canva designs on Etsy. 

But you must ensure that you’re not selling or using someone else’s template and that if you are selling a design, it has to be created by yourself from scratch.

For those who are not in the know, there are two main ways people sell their Canva designs on Etsy:

• They sell Canva templates on Etsy
• They sell finished Canva designs on Etsy 

Canva is a free-to-use design software that allows you to make artwork with barely any design knowledge.

What this means is that there are often a lot of newbies or beginners who are looking to start with an existing template or even a finished piece to speed up things for them.

That’s where you come in with your Canva skills!

Some Canva designs that sell well on Etsy include:

• Social media templates
• Airbnb welcome book templates
• Ebook templates
• Nutritional coaching templates

Think about it — you look for templates when you’re looking to save time.

The first step to how I can sell Canva designs on Etsy is to think of your customer’s needs. You can determine this by doing desktop research or speaking to people. 

For example, if you’re in a new fitness group, you could ask people how they usually track their workouts and whether they would use a physical fitness checklist or tracker. 

This will help you determine whether there will be a demand if you create such a product.

I noticed people set the price between $4 – $25

4. List Your Product On Etsy 

If you already have an Etsy account, great. If not, create an Etsy account so you can start listing your first item! 

Remember to ensure that your product listing clearly tells others what you are selling.

Lastly, remember two things — make sure it has digital as the item type and that it is set to instant download so your customers can get what they pay for immediately. 

5. Promote, Promote, Promote!

While you can count on the Etsy gods to somehow propel your listing to the top, another way to make things go faster is to promote your listing.

Promote your Etsy shop by running ads, doing social media marketing, or just telling everyone you know about your new shop! 

Do You Need Canva Pro To Sell Canva Designs On Etsy?

No, you do not need Canva Pro to sell Canva designs on Etsy.

Etsy has a clear page detailing the use of Canva to sell on Etsy, and it states that you can use Canva Free and Pro to design and sell items such as templates.

You just need to ensure that when you sell the templates you sell them as Canva template links. 

However, if you want to sell stock content (such as finished designs or clipart), you will need to create your designs from scratch. 

Regardless of whether you’re using Canva Pro or Canva Free. 

How To Sell Canva Templates On Etsy

Selling Canva templates on Etsy is a little different from selling finished Canva designs on Etsy. 

For finished Canva designs, you can just download the finished artwork and send it to your customer as an image file or PDF.

However, for templates, you’ll need to click ‘share’, and copy your template link.

Once you have this link, paste this link into a PDF so that you can ‘deliver’ the PDF as a product when your customer purchases your template on Etsy.

Yes, all Etsy customers who are buying Canva templates on Etsy will need a Canva account to access the bought template.

This is because when Etsy sellers sell the Canva templates, they are required to sell the templates as links back to the template on Canva.

Also, templates are typically editable, so for the customer to edit the Canva file, they will need a Canva account to edit it. 

Can I Make Money On Etsy Selling Canva Designs?

Yes, you can make money on Etsy selling Canva designs. 

Just look online, and you’ll see sellers who’ve made anything from $100 to even nearly $20k a month just by selling Canva designs. 

It does take research, hard work (to create the designs), and patience to sell your designs. 

But it is entirely possible to make money on Etsy selling Canva designs.

You can combine Etsy elements to make a design, and sell that design, or sell it as an editable template. 

For templates, you need to ensure that the template is created for use on Etsy, meaning that you have to sell the template as a link that goes back to Canva to edit.

If you’re looking to transfer a Canva design to Etsy, all you’ll need to do is save your design and download it as a file format that you intend to sell your design as.

Some might choose to sell it as an image file (JPG or PNG), or some might sell it as a PDF.

If you’re selling a Canva template, however, you’ll need to do this differently:

• Go to share
• Save your Canva template link
• Open up a Word document or another Canva page
• Instead, the template link into the document and save it as a PDF.

Once you have the template link on a PDF, you can use the PDF as a deliverable when customers buy your template on Etsy. 

Can I Use Free Images On Canva To Sell On Etsy?

Yes, you can use free images on Canva to sell on Etsy as long as you modify the images. You cannot sell the image as it is as a standalone image. 

As Etsy says — your designs should always be your creations. 

So if you choose to use free images, make sure that your design is a combination of elements that is unique to you before you export it for sale as an image or print it on anything else to sell. 

Are You Allowed To Sell Art Made On Canva?

Yes, you can sell art made on Canva, especially if it is designed by yourself from scratch. 

Even if you do utilize other elements you’ve found on Canva, as long as you’ve modified the design and made it clear that you are not using the elements as is, you are allowed to sell that final image.

When selling art, you’ll need to remember to export it as an image file or as a PDF for your customer.

To make Canva templates to sell, here’s what you need to do:

• Do your research and check out what is in demand
• Sign up for a Canva account 
• Design your template on Canva — make sure you do not take anyone’s design, and you modify everything you use
• Set up an online store, whether it is on Etsy or Shopify
• Export your template by clicking share and copying the template link
• Paste the template link into a PDF
• Send the PDF to customers when they make a purchase
• Ask them to leave a review after purchase, and repeat the process! 

Can You Sell Canva Pro Designs On Etsy

Yes, you can sell Canva Pro designs on Etsy, provided that you modify the designs. 

You cannot take Canva Pro designs as they are and sell them, whether as designs, printed or digital, and as templates. 

The designs that you sell, whether they are made from Canva Free or Canva Pro must be uniquely yours before you decide to sell them. 

How To Sell Editable Canva Templates On Etsy

Here’s how you can sell editable Canva templates on Etsy:

• Create your template on Canva.
• Export your template by clicking share and getting the link to your template.
• Paste your template link into a PDF — this PDF is your deliverable product.
• Log onto your Etsy shop
• Create an Etsy listing for your editable Canva template
• Make sure the Etsy listing is titled in a way that is optimized and catchy
• When a customer makes a purchase, send them the PDF with the link to the editable Canva template
• Get the customer to leave feedback if they enjoyed the use of the template
• Repeat for more templates!
